COVENANT: Fieldworks Tour 2019 support Empathy Test, Grabyourface

The 2nd of March was the date that was marked in my calendar as the one when I'd finally see the triumphant return of Covenant to stage. The Fieldworks Tour 2019 that started back on 7th of February in Berlin finally got to its grand finale in Leipzig. The supporting bands for Covenant were the Brits of EMPATHY TEST and - for the first time (technically – second – after Jena show) - GRABYOURFACE. It was a celebration understood in many ways – not only was it a real feast of fantastic music and atmosphere but also a joyous champagne drinking to mark the entire tour as a great success. The crowd that came that night to der Anker was enthusiastic enough to fill the air with the aura of excitement and energy one may experience only at the very best events of the kind. I think the artist met the high expectations and left the audience recharged, happy and invigorated.

FELIX MARC, the songwriter, composer and producer for such bands as DIORAMA and FROZEN PLASMA, finally made time for his own solo project again. We took the chance to ask him a few questions - about the new album, production, inspirations and above all the things that matter. About the ‘Substance’.

Laibach - The Sound of Music Tour 2019, Wrocław, 24.02.19

LAIBACH performances are always quite the event. Every time they play, the venues are filled with people curious to see what will be presented this time, if there is a shock, a game with ideas, a scandal or other mind trick waiting - no surprise then that on 24th of February in Stary Klasztor there was barely a place to move. The venue was packed with people excited to listen to both new songs of ‘The Sound of Music’ - album released on 23rd of November 2018 - and to see Marina Mårtensson supporting Milan Fras on vocals. Some left the spectacle a bit disappointed with the absence of Mina Špiler, the others enthusiastic about the show, but no one, absolutely no one was indifferent

Felix Marc "Substance" - CD review

FELIX MARC is a long-time player in the wave music scene; apart from his solo project, he is also involved in two other bands - DIORAMA and FROZEN PLASMA - both representing different facets of Dark Wave music the former being a mix of dancy with lyrical and the latter of pure dance floor force. The solo project is probably the gentlest, most melodious version of electronics Felix composes; it’s the combination of extremely characteristic, soft, deep vocal and melodies ranging from ballad qualities to dynamic electronics to fast-paced rhythms. Emotional lyrics that go perfectly well with clear, warm vocalic qualities represent the outstanding characteristic for Marc’s albums ‘Pathways’ (2008), ‘Parallel Worlds’ (2011) and ‘Alternative Facts’ (2017) therefore the term to describe his music would be a well-balanced synth pop variety.

His brand new album, entitled ‘Substance’, is out on 15th of March 2019. If you want to think about it in terms of the so-far released content, it will definitely be no shock - twelve compositions harmonize very nicely to what can be recognized as FELIX MARC style - and that being a mix of cold, perfectly mastered electronics, vocalic warmth and interesting lyrical value. After listening to the album, once again it came to my mind that Felix is extremely skilled at composing, arranging, constructing and forming the music to reach the perfect, flawless sonic structure. A great skill for the right choice for diversified melodic lines to intermingle in a way to reach fresh, lively and catchy effect is another advantage for the artist.

Wzbudzić radość, smutek, miłość, euforię, entuzjazm, uniesienie, dodać odwagi, zabrać smutek i lęk.
