Zombie Girl - Blood, Brains & Rock'N'Roll
Does the name Komor mean anything to you? Well, theoretically it should: Sebastian Komor - is known of co-operating witch such artists as Icon of Coil, Ayria, Bruderschaft, or Monofader, as well a the production work for Apoptygma Berzerk, XP8 and Spektralized not to mention remixes for NIN, VNV Nation, Alphaville or De/Vision, while the voice of Zombie Girl - Renee Cooper-Komor - is a famous Canadian artist and designer.
The result of the two joining forces is the album “Blood, Brains & Rock'N'Roll”. It contains 13 tracks featuring dynamic electronics which becomes absolutely outstanding thanks to a characteristic, a bit wild vocal of Renee.
The most expressive and mesmerizing tracks which I strongly advise you to become familiar with are the lively, slightly irregular pieces that are characterized by fantastic beat and speed, catchy melodic line and Renee's sexy, scanning vocal: „blood, brains & rock'n roll”, „living dead superstars”, „go zombie” (that might bring Juno Reactor to your minds – mostly due to its highly electronic, a bit 'soundtrack' character: the refrain is especially smashing and adds to the disco quality of the piece) or „the darkness” (whose intro made me think of DM out of a sudden...).
Actually the whole album is kept in the same style: aside form the 'creepy' or those a bit 'old-fashioned' elements added most likely to mess up the soundscape a bit or to add the whole a specific character as if of a cemetery waltz („ dance of the headless corpse”), spooky revue („today”) or hypnotic trance („funeral pyre”) you may take "Blood, Brains & Rock'n Roll” as a strong blast of energetic party hits.
Highly craftily set and arranged melodies in pair with female, a bit rampaging vocal stand for an entity, which,in my opinion, is extremely captivating and definitely not trite. I think it's worth checking them up: the music of Zombie Girl has the potential and power to move you: be it at dance floor or in your private just-me-and-my-headphones lounge – it will get you anyway
