.com/kill, 7JK, Diorama @ Castle Party - impressions
This year's Castle Party was special for me for many reasons, most important of them being: people, music, atmosphere and the venue.
The fact that I hadn't been there for 6 years definitely pumped the vibes for me right all right as well. On going and returning I was happy and that's the point of the whole thing, isn't not?
Anyway, the festival had changed on the one hand, but on the other - it remained as it used to be and I personally cannot point out which of the two is an advantage and which is not.
I think if you go there once you will always feel like at home - there is no pressure on anything but there are nice, imaginative people plus tons of good music to reach out. Nice bait, no?
Taking into consideration I only spent several hours at the festival, I managed to watch three shows on Friday - each a bit different, yet great in its own way.
The first of them - .com/kill - is the side project of Diary of Dreams (also in line-up for the day) co-founder - Adrian Hates. One cannot help comparing both projects but I have a feeling that .com/kill is the emanation of darker and more harsh nature of the musicians. DoD never avoided stronger or even dancy sounds but their youngest child seem to kick in an even more aggressive, loud and strong manner.
Adrian Hates, as a frontman, did not fail the audience by giving a vivid and energetic show. Scene - audience energy flow - A plus.
The pieces presented were of 2013 released album.
Another band on Bolkow stage was 7JK.
7JK is the project of two artists - Matt Howden (Sieben) and Maciek Frett of Job Karma.
While listening to their music combined together, one cannot but track the characteristic motives from their original projects since they are omnipresent in 7JK music.
They both are poets, it's just that they paint their soundscapes with different tools - one is nostalgic, warm, romantic even, while the other employs harsh, cold, acute tones.
Electronic and violin, the voice of the man and the machine, words and sounds - what a splendid idea and combination.
If you add the said qualities to the technical mastery, you get the mixture that will get you off your feet getting to your mind and body invigorating both.

The last concert for me to see was Diorama.
What can I say - it definitely was not the longest performance in their festival career, but despite the initial technical problems, the fans gathered by the stage seemed satisfied with what was finally offered to them.
For me Diorama is a melting pot of contrasts: emotions and irony, lyrics that will make you think and music that will make you dance. Reflection and dazzling energy, electronics and piano, warm vocals and cold scream, glass and velvet.
All of it coexists in their music harmonically enough to secure the band the place in the fans' hearts for good - the madness by the stage was stunning:)

Tegoroczne Castle Party było dla mnie wyjątkowe z wielu powodów - luźno szeregując: ludzie, muzyka, atmosfera, miejsce.
No
i fakt, że nie było mnie tam przez 6 lat na pewno dodał całej akcji
wyjazdowej smaku. Jechałam szczęśliwa, wracałam szczęśliwa - i o to
chyba w tym wszystkim chodzi.
Festiwal z jednej strony się zmienia, a z drugiej nie zmienia i nie wiem co lepsze.
Myślę,
że jeśli ktoś raz tam pojechał to już zawsze będzie się czuł jak u
siebie - na festiwalu nie ma spiny, są fajni ludzie z pomysłem na siebie
i dużo dobrej muzyki na wyciągnięcie uszu.
Pierwszy z nich - .com/kill - to side project współtwórcy Diary
of Dreams (którzy grali tego dnia jako headliner) - Adriana Hatesa. Nie
uniknie się oczywiście porównań z gigantem sceny dark, ale mam wrażeie,
że .com/kill to emanacja tej ostrzejszej natury muzyków, bo chociaż DoD
nie unikali nigdy mocniejszych nawet tanecznych brzmień, to ich
najnowsze dziecko zdecydowanie kopie i skacze nad wyraz głośno, agresywnie i mocno.
Adrian Hates jako frontman także nie zawiódł dając należycie energetyczny występ. Kontakt z publiką na medal. Na koncercie grano głównie utwory z albumu z 2o13 roku.
Kolejnym zespołem na bolkowskiej scenie był 7JK.
7JK to projekt dwóch artystów - Matta Howdena z Sieben i Maćka Fretta z Job Karma.
Kiedy
słucha się ich muzyki połączonej razem nie sposób nie wyłapywać tego,
co w ich rodzimych projektach tak charakterystyczne.
Obaj
są poetami, tyle, że malują dźwiękami o nieco innych odcieniach - jeden
trochę bardziej nostalgicznymi, ciepłymi, romantycznymi nawet, drugi
ostrzejszymi, bardziej kanciastymi, zimnymi. przenikliwymi. Elektronika i
skrzypce, głos człowieka i maszyny, słowa i dźwięki - co za kombinacja i
wspaniały pomysł.
Jeśli połączy
się te jakości plus mistrzostwo techniczne - wychodzi mieszanka
powalająca z nóg, trafiająca tak do głowy jaki ciała ożywiając je.
Piękny, klimatyczny koncert, brawo!

Ostatnim koncertem jaki obejrzałam tego wieczoru była Diorama.
Cóż
tu dużo mówić, nie był to może najdłuższy koncert w ich festiwalowej
karierze z uwagi na problemy techniczne, ale i tak wierni fani
zgromadzeni licznie pod sceną ucieszyli się tym co im finalnie
zaprezentowano.
Dla
mnie Diorama to tygiel sprzeczności - emocjonalność i ironiczny
uśmieszek, teksty, które zmuszają do myślenia i muzyka, która porywa do
tańca. Refleksja i buzująca energia, elektronika i pianino, ciepły głos i
zimny dźwięk. Wszystko to razem współgra na tyle harmonijnie aby
zapewnić zespołowi wiernych fanów - szaleństwo pod sceną było bardzo
miłe dla oka:)

Festiwal to też cudowni ludzie - bardzo bardzo dziękuję za spotkania i rozmowy - naprawdę wróciłam ogrzana i podbudowana psychicznie. Dzięki!
