Since
I remember I have always been fascinated by the power of human
creativity – the path the imagination takes and the unlimited means
of expression it employs.
The
music festivals is an occasion to meet other people – not only to
talk but also to visit the worlds of their imagination and inner
selves.
Wrocław
Industrial Festival has always been an event that promoted diversity
and even after several years of my absence I am stunned, just like I
was in 2002, how ingenious and incredible the artists can be when it
comes to the expression of their visions, ideas inspirations or
dreams.
Sometimes
their message gets to me faster, sometimes slower, but it's always a
great pleasure to immerse into the soundscapes their conjure and the
meeting with their sensitivity – sometimes totally different from mine.
Not to mention the courage to present their ideas to the others. I
always appreciate that a lot so it's even greater pleasure to say the
2017 edition was rich in amazing musical journeys.
I
regret I was able to participate in a part of the festival only,
still the shows I saw made me forget about everyday and the banal to
such an extent I feel utterly happy person now.
After
all that's what art is also for – to remind one life has the
beautiful, ephemeral side as well.
The
first concert I saw was Autopsia. The
artist made it clear the attention of the audience should be focused
on images and sounds not the artist himself, by hiding behind the
curtains and in the hooded costume.
Mysterious,
profound sound bringing into ones mind associations with mystic
choruses or crystalline vibrations set in electronic frames were
both hypnotising and disquieting.
Job
Karma, as hosts of the festival, played a magnificent,
unforgettable concert which was also – due to the fact the band
celebrates their 20th anniversary this year - a kind of a cross
section through their works. It's a pleasure to see them in such a
great shape indeed.
Their
music is a combination of energetic, lively beats with cold, precise
electronics. It's hypnotising and disturbing at the same time so
usually I spent part of their concert in trance and part in dance.
The background to their sets is extremely characteristic, the one
and only graphic by Arek Baginski.
Additional
extras to the show was the performance of the guests - Anna Frett
and Thom Fuhrmann
The
opening concert on Saturday was Sielwolf &
Nam-khar. Atmospheric,
subtle soundscapes conjured
up by the musicians were diversified by disquieting interruptions
that introduced a bit oppressive mood. It
was a bit as if of a dream:
dark, complicated, inscrutable.
Extremely interesting experience.
Triarii
was a total stylistic jump.
After dark ephemeral melodies
we were introduced to the military element. The music is profound;
it's base consists of powerful, impactful drums and chanting, solemn
vocals by Christian Erdmann.
Awesome, vibrating
industrial was like a kick setting the festival into motion.

After
returning from maritial
industrial planet the
audience was taken into a cosmic journey again – thanks to the
project Inade. Dark,
mysterious ambient offered a hypnotic trance. Beautiful visuals,
subtle passages and gentle shifts in mood pacified and enriched all
senses.

I've
been waiting for the concert impatiently –
just after listening to the
new release by Empusae -
Lueur
I knew the show would be a
mystic feast. The musicians hidden in the flood of red light sent the
audience to the most beautiful journey thorough the dark yet most
incredible worlds. Delicate,
precise sound base drew attention in the most splendid manner whereas
the accompanying masses of softly intermingling sounds were like the
superb sonic gossamer.
Amazing show, bravo!
The
last – and the most awaited one – was the show of
The Young Gods. I'll
put it shortly – the masters did not fail anyone. I have not
experienced such incredible energy and power for a long time – my
whole body was screaming to move. It's the mastery of perfectly
combined sounds, the rhythm that invites to motion, makes your pulse run
wild and tells one to scream „yeah!”.
Thank you for the marvellous
dose of emotions energy, strenghts and joy - these will stay with me
for long!
The
recap: the whole festival – even a relatively short for me –
was filled with meetings with awesome people, laughter, dance and
above all – was an amazing musical experience.
It's
as diversified, original and fantastic as the people who have always
visited the event. All of them coexist in Wroclaw together and create
the spectacular sonic collage that fascinates and enriches the
audience.

Odkąd
pamiętam zawsze fascynowała mnie siła ludzkiej kreatywności –
ścieżki jakimi chadza wyobraźnia i nieograniczona praktycznie
ilość środków jej wyrazu. Festiwale muzyczne to okazja aby
spotkać się z drugim człowiekiem – nie tylko po to aby
porozmawiać ale także po to aby na chwilę zajrzeć do świata jego
wyobraźni.
Wrocław
Industrial Festival to od zawsze było wydarzenie promujące
różnorodność i nawet po kilkuletniej przerwie jestem tak samo
zaskoczona jak w 2002 kiedy byłam tam pierwszy raz jak pomysłowi i
niesamowici potrafią być artyści w sposobach wyrażania siebie,
swoich pomysłów, wizji, natchnień czy marzeń. Czasem ich przekaz
dociera bardziej, czasem mniej, a jednak za każdym razem jest to
przyjemność zanurzenia się w czyimś muzycznym krajobrazie,
zetknięcia z - czasem zupełnie odmienną od mojej - wrażliwością
i odwagą prezentowania swoich pomysłów innym. Bardzo to doceniam i
tym bardziej jest to przyjemność bo edycja 2017 obfitowała w
przepiękne muzyczne podróże.
Ubolewam,
że dane mi było uczestniczyć tylko w kilku koncertach, tym
niemniej to co widziałam oderwało mnie od szarości i banału na
tyle mocno że czuję się całkowicie uszczęśliwiona. Ostatecznie
także po to jest sztuka – aby przypomnieć że życie ma także i
tą piękną, ulotną stronę.
Pierwszym
koncertem jaki widziałam w całości był koncert Autopsia.
Artysta dał wyraźny sygnał,
aby uwaga publiczności koncentrowała się nie na nim samym a na
obrazach wyświetlanych za kurtynach zasłaniających scenę i samej
muzyce. Tajemniczy, podniosły dźwięk przywodzący na myśl czy to
chóralne, mistyczne zaśpiewy czy krystalicznie czyste wibracje
ułożone w elektronicznych ramach były tyleż hipnotyzujące to
niepokojące
Job
Karma jako gospodarze festiwalu dali niezapomniany, wspaniały,
przekrojowy koncert. Projekt obchodzi w tym roku swoje 20 urodziny
więc tym bardziej wypada się cieszyć że muzycy są w tak
doskonałej formie. Ich muzyka to kombinacja energetycznych żywych
bitów z chłodną precyzyjną elektroniką. Jest tyleż
hipnotyzująca, wciągająca, co niepokojąca i zwykle części
koncertu słucha się w stanie transu, a części podrygując. Oprawą
są jedyne w swoim rodzaju, bardzo charakterystyczne grafiki Arka
Bagińskiego. Na scenie wystąpili też goście - Anna Frett i Thom Fuhrmann
W
sobotę otwierającym dla mnie koncertem był Sielwolf
& Nam-khar. Nastrojowe,
klimatyczne pejzaże muzyczne wyczarowane przez muzyków przełamywały
niepokojące przerywniki wprowadzające nieco opresyjny klimat,
trochę jak ze snu, nieco mroczny, nieco tajemniczy, skomplikowany,
nieodgadniony. Bardzo interesujące doświadczenie.
Triarii
to był całkowity przeskok
stylistyczny. Po mrocznych, efemerycznych melodiach pojawiły się
elementy militarne. Muzyka jest podniosła, bazuje na mocnych, silnie
oddziałujących dźwiękach bębnów i skandujących, pełnych
patosu wokalach Christiana Erdmanna. Wspaniały wibrujący,
energetyczny industrial to było to kopnięcie które rozruszało
festiwal. Świetny koncert!

Po
powrocie z krainy maritial industrialu publiczność ponownie została
zabrana w kosmiczną podróż a to za sprawą projektu
Inade. Mroczny,
tajemniczy ambient wprawił mnie w hipnotyczny trans. Piękne
wizualizacje, subtelne przejścia i delikatne zmiany nastroju
wyciszyły i wyostrzyły zmysły.

Na
ten koncert czekałam z niecierpliwością – już po odsłuchu
nowego wydawnictwa Empusae - Lueur wiedziałam że ten koncert to będzie mistyczna uczta. Muzycy
skąpani w powodzi czerwonego światła wysłali publiczność w
piękną podróż po tajemniczych, nieco mrocznych ale bardzo
pięknych krainach. Nienachalna, precyzyjna baza dźwiękowa przykuwa
uwagę a otaczające morze dyskretnie wplatających się w tło
dźwięków są jak przepiękna muzyczna koronka. Piękny koncert,
brawo!

Ostatnim
– i jednym
z najbardziej wyczekanych - był ten The Young Gods. Powiem
tyle – mistrzowie nie zawiedli. Takiej mocy i energii ze sceny
dawne nie dane mi było doświadczyć całe ciało rwało się do
tańca. To jest niesamowita
moc, siła doskonale złożonych dźwięków, rytm który porywa,
przyspiesza rytm serca i wyrywa z gardła głośne „yeah!”.
Dzięki za tę potężną dawkę emocji, radości, siły i energii –
zostaną ze mną na długo!
Reasumując
– cały festiwal – choć dla mnie relatywnie krótki był pełen
cudownych spotkań z dawno nie widzianymi ludźmi, śmiechu tańca a
przede wszystkim wspaniałym muzycznym doświadczeniem. Tak
zróżnicowanym, oryginalnym i fantastycznym jak artyści którzy
zawsze odwiedzają ten festiwal. Wszyscy współistnieją we
Wrocławiu razem i tworzą niesamowity dźwiękowy kolaż, który tak
zachwyca jak i ubogaca publiczność.
